School-Parent Compact
Sumter County Intermediate School
2019-2020
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Sumter County Intermediate School students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families, agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement as well as describes how school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State's high standards. To understand how working together can benefit your child, it is first important to understand our district's and school's goals for student academic achievement.
Sumter County District and Sumter County Intermediate School's Goal:
Increase the percentage of students scoring at the DEVELOPING LEARNER Level and above by 4% in all core content areas by the end of the 2019-2020 school year as measured by the Georgia Milestones Assessment.
To help your child meet the district and school goals, the school, you, and your child will work together to:
School Responsibilities:
1. We will provide weekly homework assignments in reading and math
2. We will attend and support monthly Title I Parent engagement meetings to help parents understand academic expectations
3. We will communicate with parents about their child's progress through regularly two-way communication and progress reports that is sent home every 4 ½ and 9 weeks. These reports will be sent to parents in the Wednesday Currier
4. We will incorporate writing across the curriculum.
5. We will be available for consultations with parents during planning period, after school, and during Parent-Teacher Conferences in which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual student's achievement.
Parent Responsibilities:
1. I will ensure that my child completes all reading and math homework assignments and review it with him/her before signing.
2. I will attend at least 5 Title I Parent Engagement Meetings and 2 Parent-Teacher Conferences throughout the 2019-2020 School year.
3. I will log on to Parent Portal in Infinite Campus at least once per week to monitor my child's attendance, assignments, and grades.
4. I will review and listen to my child read his/her writing homework assignments.
5. I will keep lines of communication open and collaborate with my child's teachers as it relates to student progress
Student Responsibilities:
1. I will independently complete reading and math homework assignments, review it with parents and bring signed copy back to school.
2. I will attend Title I parent meetings with my parents and participate in the parent/teacher conferences.
3. I will make sure to give my parents the Wednesday Curriers, agendas, and any form of communication sent by the school.
4. I will complete homework writing assignments and share with my parents.
5. I will take home or bring to school any written communication between my parents and teachers

Estimado Padre / Tutor,
Los estudiantes de la Escuela Intermedia del Condado de Sumter que participan en el programa Título I, Parte A y sus familias, están de acuerdo en que este acuerdo describe cómo los padres, todo el personal de la escuela y los estudiantes compartirán la responsabilidad de mejorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes, así como también describe cómo la escuela y los padres construirán y desarrollarán una asociación que ayudará a los niños a alcanzar los altos estándares del estado. Para entender cómo trabajar juntos puede beneficiar a su hijo, primero es importante comprender las metas de nuestro distrito y la escuela para el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
Objetivo del Distrito del Condado de Sumter y de la Escuela Intermedia del Condado de Sumter:
Aumentar en un 4% el porcentaje de estudiantes con puntajes en el NIVEL DE APRENDIZAJE EN DESARROLLO en todas las áreas de contenido básico al final del año escolar 2019-2020, según lo medido por la Evaluación de los Hitos de Georgia
Para ayudar a su hijo a cumplir los objetivos del distrito y de la escuela, la escuela, usted y su hijo trabajarán juntos para:
Responsabilidades de la Escuela:
1. Proporcionaremos tareas semanales en lectura y matemáticas.
2. Asistiremos y apoyaremos reuniones mensuales de participación de padres de Título I para ayudar a los padres a comprender las expectativas académicas.
3. Nos comunicaremos con los padres sobre el progreso de sus hijos a través de informes regulares de comunicación y progreso que se envían a casa cada 4 ½ y 9 semanas. Estos informes serán enviados a los padres en el miércoles Currier.
4. Incorporaremos la escritura en todo el plan de estudios.
5. Estaremos disponibles para consultas con los padres durante el período de planificación, después de la escuela y durante las conferencias de padres y maestros en las que se discutirá este acuerdo en relación con el logro del estudiante individual.
Responsabilidades de los Padres:
1. Me aseguraré de que mi hijo complete todas las tareas de lectura y matemáticas y lo revisaré con él / ella antes de firmar.
2. Asistiré al menos a 5 reuniones de participación de padres de Título I y 2 conferencias de padres y maestros durante el año escolar 2019-2020.
3. Iniciaré sesión en el Portal de Padres en Infinite Campus al menos una vez por semana para controlar la asistencia, las tareas y las calificaciones de mi hijo.
4. Revisaré y escucharé a mi hijo leer sus tareas de escritura.
5. Mantendré abiertas las líneas de comunicación y colaboraré con los maestros de mi hijo en relación con el progreso del estudiante.
Responsabilidades del Estudiante:
1. Completaré independientemente las tareas de lectura y matemáticas, las revisaré con los padres y traeré una copia firmada a la escuela.
2. Asistiré a las reuniones de padres de Título I con mis padres y participaré en las conferencias de padres / maestros.
3. Me aseguraré de darles a mis padres los miércoles Curriers, agendas y cualquier forma de comunicación enviada por la escuela.
4. Completaré las tareas de escritura y las compartiré con mis padres.
5. Llevaré a casa o llevaré a la escuela cualquier comunicación escrita entre mis padres y maestros.
